Course Description:
Join The Lancet Neurology and The Lancet Psychiatry for a landmark conference in the exciting clinical field of immunological disorders of the brain and mind. This developing area not only presents neurologists and psychiatrists with potential new treatments for their patients, but also demands a rethink of the boundaries of the two disciplines, and how they will move forward together. By bringing together both professions, this conference will provide vital education as well as launching future research and clinical collaborations.
The programme will cover recent, ongoing, and future research in the developing field of neuroimmunological disease including recent research findings regarding mechanisms of disease, and the translation of this knowledge into treatment, diagnosis, and the prevention of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
The event will have a translational focus, starting with the basic science of immunology and the brain, and then moving into the roles these systems play in neuropsychiatric health and disease, and ending with a clinically-focused debate on screening and treatment.
