OVERVIEW

The Difficult Airway Course: Critical Care is organized by Airway Management Education Center (AMEC) and will be held during May 04 - 06, 2018 at Grand Hyatt Denver, Denver, Colorado, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is intensivists and for hospitalists who are responsible for emergency airway management of acute inpatients. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 20.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits

Conference Description:
This Conference focuses exclusively on the airway challenges posed by critically ill inpatients. The course emphasizes airway assessment and decision-making to build within course participants the capacity to manage all airway situation they encounter - and to do so with great confidence. Participants practice the most important skills and reinforce their learning with Code Airway simulations. We encourage all members of the critical care team to join us for this intensive educational experience.

This course is designed to provide participants with state-of-the-art information and hands-on experience that ensure effective and appropriate acute/emergency airway management in the inpatient setting.

Conference Objectives are :
Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will be able to:
• Have a clear conceptual framework for Difficult Airway management in the critical care and inpatient setting.
• Have a rapid and systematic approach for the management of the difficult and failed airway.
• Be familiar with the devices and techniques needed to manage the difficult and failed airway, and when and how to use them.
• Be able to perform a cricothyrotomy.
• Be able to assess and manage a difficult airway extubation.
