Course Description : -
The Columbus Course is 7 days of intensive study in gynecologic oncology, general obstetrics/gynecology, primary care, maternal-fetal medicine, infectious disease, genetics, reproductive endocrinology/infertility, and urogynecology including didactic lectures, computerized case-based independent learning, small and large group discussions and interactive case discussions. The purpose of this course is to provide the obstetrician/gynecologist with as much current information in the field of obstetrics and gynecology as possible and encourage competency of System Based Practice in order to treat, manage and promote women’s health.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) by Perinatal Resources, Inc. Course Objectives are : -
Recognize and employ the current practice guidelines developed by ACOG, other national medical organizations and government institutions regarding obstetrics, gynecology and its multiple sub-specialty areas in order to effectively treat, manage and promote women’s health.
Evaluate clinical problems in obstetrics and gynecology presented in interactive, case-based scenarios and demonstrate an understanding of appropriate clinical management.
Apply increased knowledge of obstetrics, gynecology and its sub-specialties in order to receive specialty board certification and/or continued maintenance of certification.
