OVERVIEW
The Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) 2018 is organized by International Conferences & Events (ICE) and will be held during Jun 27 - 29, 2018 at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Course Description:
This is the premier conference for Geriatric Medicine in the Australasia region. Our meeting theme, "Cutting edge: Optimising the Journey for Older Surgical Patients", will showcase the new paradigm of peri-operative and surgical care of older adults as we collaborate with our anaesthetic and surgical colleagues. We are delighted to have Doctor Jugdeep Dhesi, clinical lead of the award winning POPS service in Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London and chair of the British Geriatric Society’s Peri-operative Care of Older People Undergoing Surgery Special Interest Group, as our international keynote speaker. Professor Jacqui Close, clinical director of the Falls, Balance, and Injury Research Centre at Neuroscience Research Australia, leading researcher in Falls as well as Peri-operative Medicine, will be our national keynote speaker.
You will also hear the latest scientific research and best clinical practice updates on other geriatric issues such as incontinence, wound management, acute and chronic pain, nutrition, stroke and anticoagulation, onco-geriatrics, de-prescribing, and much more.
The RACP Workshops are three hour workshops that form a part of the Supervisor Professional Development Program (SPDP).The workshops will be held prior to the Conference on Tuesday, 26 June 2018 and will run concurrently from 1:30pm – 4:00pm at International Convention Centre, Sydney. These workshops are only open to RACP Members who are attending the Conference.

• Saturday 30th June: Claffy Lecture Theatre, Sydney Hospital (8 Macquarie Street, Sydney)
