Pancreas Symposium 2018: Current Controversies in Benign Pancreatic Disease is organized by Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) and will be held on Mar 22, 2018 at Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center, New York, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is gastroenterologists, surgeons, internists, radiologists, pathologists, RNs, PAs, NPs and other medical professionals involved in the evaluation, diagnosis and/or management of patients with the benign pancreatic disease. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Overview :
The Pancreas Symposium 2018 program will review current controversies and procedures for managing the benign pancreatic disease. Acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, and pancreatic cysts are among the most complex cases that physicians are confronted with as internists, gastroenterologists, and surgeons. Our internationally recognized faculty will present lectures and case presentations to help practicing physicians treat benign pancreatic disease.

Learning Objectives :
• Discuss current evidence-based guidelines for the surgical and endoscopic management of acute pancreatitis
• Explain how to diagnose and treat pancreatic insufficiency
• Recognize special considerations for pediatric pancreatitis
• Discuss the diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis and when to refer patients for total pancreatectomy with autologous islet cell transplantation
• Identify new and enhanced imaging techniques of the pancreas
• Describe the role of biomarkers in chronic pancreatitis
• Explain how to diagnose and manage autoimmune pancreatitis, pancreatic cystic neoplasms and incidentally found pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors
• Describe the physiology of pain in pancreatitis
• Identify new techniques in endoscopic ablation of select pancreatic lesions
• Assess the role for prevention in pancreatic disease
