OVERVIEW
20th Annual Pain Management Symposium is organized by Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and will be held during Feb 10 - 14, 2018 at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Orlando, Florida, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Practitioners and health care professionals who seek to learn the latest developments in pain medicine, including anesthesia providers, interventional pain specialists, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, orthopaedic and spine surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, headache specialists, palliative care specialists, primary care physicians, physical therapists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and residents and fellows in training who are interested in the practice of pain management will benefit from this program. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 23.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Objectives :
• Describe the issues surrounding the opioid crisis and the use of opioids for pain management including opioid guidelines, new legislation, addiction potential, and strategies to optimize outcomes.
• Discuss opioid addiction, medication-assisted addiction treatment, and how to recognize addiction in the chronic pain patient.
• Analyze the unique challenges of caring for elderly patients with pain and the potential role of pharmacogenomics.
• Describe new governmental quality and payment programs.
• Develop appropriate strategies to address the economic impact of healthcare reform and that will succeed in a changing healthcare environment.
• Identify rational selection and application of criteria for neuromodulation therapies to optimize patient outcome.
• Summarize rational use of imaging studies to help diagnosis and treat chronic pain.
• Describe the emerging treatments for pain and describe their potential clinical use, including deep brain stimulation, robotic spine surgery, stem cells, neuromodulation, and focused muscle stimulation.
• Describe contemporary approaches to the evaluation and treatment of low back pain.
• Analyze the relationship between pain and the brain, and describe its impact in developing successful treatment programs.
