UCSF CME: 2018 Pacific Rim Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Update
OVERVIEW
UCSF CME: 2018 Pacific Rim Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Update is organized by The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Office of Continuing Medical Education and will be held during Feb 17 - 20, 2018 at Moana Hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is practicing otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dermatologic surgeons, allied health professionals, and nurses. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 22.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Overview:
With improved understanding of pathophysiology and disease mechanisms and with technological advancements, the approaches to head and neck surgical disorders and head and neck surgery techniques continue to evolve at a rapid pace. The goal of this course is to provide an update on contemporary head and neck surgery and to foster educational interaction between practitioners from the Pacific Rim and beyond. A distinguished faculty will provide lectures and roundtable discussions. Ample time for questions and interaction with the faculty is planned. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cases for discussion.
Course Objectives:
An attendee completing this course should be able to discuss and, as appropriate, apply:
• The evidence and rationale behind oropharynx surgery;
• The updated indications for vestibular testing;
• Current options for management of frontal chronic sinusitis;
• Various applications of rhinoplasty techniques for cosmetic and functional goals;
• Factors in the management of orbital hematomas;
• Treatment options for sleep apnea in the pediatric and adult populations;
• Current concepts on the management of recurrent hyperparathyroidism;
• Contemporary management of non-stone related obstructive salivary disease;
• An introduction to Eustachian tube dilation;
• Olfactory dysfunction management.
