NUH ENT Course - 3rd Head and Neck Course is organized by Department of Otolaryngology (ENT) - Head Neck Surgery - National University Hospital (NUH), Events.360 Pte Ltd and will be held during Mar 14 - 16, 2018 at Khoo Teck Puat Advanced Surgery Training Centre (ASTC), Singapore.
Conference Description :
The field of head and neck surgery has seen rapid developments in immunotherapy and robotic-assisted surgery in the management of patients with head and neck cancers. Therefore, our 3rd head and neck course will focus on these areas, in addition to other developments in the field of head and neck surgery.Additionally, the development of surgical robots has seen applications in trans-oral surgery for both benign and malignant conditions, as well as in remote access head and neck surgery. The additional of flexible robotic surgery has further enhanced the ability to negotiate tight corners of the head and neck anatomy to better perform head and neck procedures will be presented.
The course will start with a pre-course workshop presenting video sessions on “how I do it” approach in robotic head and neck surgeries. This video session will have world experts presenting the practical technicalities, selection process, tips and pearls in performing these novel approaches. Our overall aim is to have the participants understand and appreciate the advances of head and neck surgery, and how these can influence their practice of patients with the ultimate aim of improving patient care and outcome.
Conference Objectives are :
• Discuss the present role of immunotherapy in head and neck cancer.
• Identify the selection criteria of patients for robotic/minimally invasive head and neck surgery.
• Understand the approach, clinical and functional outcomes between transoral surgery versus traditional surgical approaches in head and neck surgery.
• Understand the recent developments in thyroid cancer, salivary gland and head and neck squamous cell cancer.
