UCSF Musculoskeletal Imaging 2018

UCSF Musculoskeletal Imaging is organized by The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Office of Continuing Medical Education and will be held during Jan 28 - 30, 2018 at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, Palm Springs, California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 12.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

This course will present a comprehensive state-of-the-art update on different aspects of musculoskeletal imaging. Pertinent anatomy and pathology will be reviewed for each joint. Evaluation of cartilage lesions, including the newest available sequences will be presented; some lectures will include a discussion of optimized protocols with 1.5T and 3T MR units.

A comprehensive discussion of bone and soft-tissue tumors will be given, including high yield differential diagnoses. Special attention will be directed to bone-marrow and muscle pathology.”

Course Objectives :

At the completion of this course, the attendee should be able to:
• Use optimized protocols for imaging of the musculoskeletal system, including protocols used to suppress metal hardware in patients with joint replacements.
• Understand the MRI anatomy of the shoulder (with SAC), digits, hip, knee and ankle.
• Be familiar with abnormalities of bone marrow, osteochondral disease, and traumatic injuries of muscle and bone.
• Recognize typical features of cervical spine trauma.
• Identify abnormalities and imaging pitfalls of the joints, muscles, bone marrow and cartilage on MRI and their clinical significance.
• Recognize common bone tumors with a pertinent differential diagnosis (with SAC)
