Managing Adults with Hemiplegia - An Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) / Bobath Perspective is organized by Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) and will be held during Jan 20 - 21, 2018 at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup, Washington, United States of America.

Course Description :
This introductory level seminar will explore the assessment and treatment of the adults with hemiplegia using a problem solving approach and the tenets of NDT/Bobath. This class is designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities and a chance to improve clinical reasoning skills in the treatment of adult hemiplegia, as well as those with other neurologic conditions.
Course Objectives are :
• Participants will be introduced to identifying and facilitating basic normal movement patterns in the trunk and limbs.
• Participants will apply problem solving strategies to assess a hemiplegic patient using the enablement model.
• Participants will learn how to maximize success in treatment by using handling, activity and the environment to improve function.
• Participants will identify common impairments in hemiplegia and begin to apply techniques for remediation of impairments and facilitation of movement in functional tasks.
• Participants will begin to develop strategies for treatment progressions for the trunk and limbs.
