Course Description :
The Maine Orthopaedic Review has provided orthopaedic board preparation continually since 1959. It presents a unique opportunity for study and review for residents, board candidates, and practicing orthopaedists looking toward recertification. The course is a comprehensive review with strong sections in pediatric orthopaedics, trauma, adult reconstruction, spine, basic science, orthopaedic oncology, hand and upper extremity, and sports medicine. Our faculty are well-known subspecialists with national and international appointments.
The Maine Orthopaedic Review is held at Colby College, a typical quaint New England college with a scenic, well-equipped campus. It is the perfect setting to get away from the hustle and bustle and focus on board preparation. Conference Objectives are :
The Maine Orthopaedic Review Course is designed to meet the needs of the board candidate or practicing orthopaedist for a thorough review of current orthopaedic practice.
The registrants will:
• Increase their fund of knowledge through daily lectures and course syllabus.
• Improve their orthopaedic x-ray interpretative skills through daily unknown cases and discussions with the orthopaedic radiologist.
• Improve their ability to apply the above skills and knowledge in an examination setting through the use of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Self-Assessment and Specialty Examinations with detailed explanations.
