Course Description:
This program is designed to provide the learner with the most up to date knowledge on transvenous lead extraction, approaches to minimize device-related infections, and information on best practices, new techniques, technologies and guidelines to minimize and manage lead extraction complications. The program will feature case-based presentations and interactive panel discussions.
Conference Objectives are :
• Discuss the indications and techniques for lead extraction based on the 2017 consensus guidelines
• Critically review the best practices to prevent device infections and lead complications and describe their use in clinical practice
• Summarize the issues associated with extraction or lead abandonment, and list the most common infectious pathologies encountered with lead extraction
• Present a critical appraisal of the most recent devices, their features, and expected outcomes as well as concerns of potential adverse events
