Since nowadays many surgeons claim themselves to be plastic surgeons or cosmetic surgeons, we, as board-certified plastic surgeons need to be to the utmost level of accountability regarding patient safety and ethics. Complications can always occur in Aesthetic Surgery as in any medical specialty but through proper training and education it can be minimized, prevented and properly managed for the benefit of the patients.
