The target audience for this medical event is focused on practical and clinical issues faced on a daily basis by the neurologists, internists, intensivists, rehabilitation medicine physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who treat patients with inflammatory and immune-mediated neurologic disorders. Course Description :
Basic immunologic concepts in neurologic diseases and their applications to new therapies will be reviewed and their effect on patients will be discussed.

Didactic presentations will be interspersed with interesting cases and expert panel discussions to elaborate on specific points of controversy and to answer audience questions. Presentations and discussions will be led by nationally and internationally recognized academic and clinical experts in their field.

Conference Objectives are :
• Describe basic immunologic concepts in neurologic diseases and their applications to new therapies
• Explain and review the new treatment recently approved by the FDA for Myasthenia Gravis and the latest concepts in the pathogenesis of myasthenia gravis
• Identify possible immunomodulatory therapies for acute stroke
• Review novel imaging techniques of brain, nerves, and muscles affected by immunologic diseases
• Summarize the state-of-the-art concepts of genetic and immunological features of adult and children with multiple sclerosis and discuss the treatment options and complications for the disease
• Correctly diagnose chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy (CIDP)
• Explain the role and clinical utility of new antigens in autoimmune neuropathies
