OVERVIEW
Imaging Anatomy for the Spine Interventionalist is organized by Spine Intervention Society (SIS) and will be held from Nov 03 - 04, 2018 at The Park Central San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is designed for individuals who are involved in the care of patients with spine pain. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 11.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description :
Have you ever wondered how interventional radiologists with years of experience view radiographs, CT scans and MRI images of the spine? From the start, they know the specificity and sensitivity limitations of the imaging tools in their toolbox, and at a glance they have become adept at recognizing findings that correlate with pain syndromes or warn of sinister disease. Imagine how you can take your interventional skills to the next level with that degree of diagnostic confidence.
You will build this confidence in small groups, systematically studying images from actual cases that have challenged and informed your instructors' abilities. Over the course of the weekend, you will develop an eye for systematically examining large data sets, filtering out extraneous information, and focusing on critical findings, increasing your recognition of subtle findings which may indicate disease and degenerative phenomena that may be associated with typical axial and radicular pain syndromes.
Elevate your entire practice by bringing your mid-level colleagues with you to experience this one-of-a-kind course. Learning together will greatly enhance your team’s effectiveness while you learn what to look for to keep your patients safe.
Conference Objectives are :
• Systematically evaluate a spine imaging study and describe normal anatomy.
• Identify the specificity and sensitivity shortcomings of radiographs, CT and MRI.
• Assess normal variants that may simulate symptomatic spine disease.
• Recognize neural compressive lesions within a large spine imaging data set.
• Interpret patient radiographic findings to develop a differential diagnosis in correlation with history, physical examination, and the patient’s spine pathology.
• Explain challenges to safe injections and how to avoid pitfalls through analysis of spine imaging.
• Utilize imaging in planning transforaminal access to maximize safety and efficacy.
