Gastrointestinal and Liver Association of the Americas (GALA) San Diego Conference
OVERVIEW
Gastrointestinal and Liver Association of the Americas (GALA) San Diego Conference is organized by Gastrointestinal and Liver Association of the Americas (GALA), Annenberg Center for Health Sciences At Eisenhower, Texas Liver Institute and will be held from Sep 21 - 22, 2018 at San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, San Diego, California, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Gastroenterologists, hepatologists, internists, family practitioners, surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, fellows/residents in training, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals with an interest in GI and liver disease. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 11 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
The objective of delivering comprehensive educational updates that highlight the most clinically relevant advances in chronic liver and gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. Since its founding, GALA has hosted 17 highly successful, 1.5-day conferences and the San Diego conference will focus on:
• Evaluation of chronic diarrhea and IBS-D in the era of precision medicine
• Chronic idiopathic constipation and opioid-induced constipation: The same but different
• Gut microbiota and gastrointestinal health: The basics and what's new
• An update on the pharmacologic treatment of NAFLD/NASH: Beyond lifestyle modifications
• Autoimmune biliary disease: Diagnosis and management of PBC and PSC
• Management of alcohol-related hepatitis
• Thrombocytopenia and coagulopathies in the GI patient: How to prevent bleeding
• Positioning new therapies for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease
• The evolving role of therapeutic drug monitoring in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
• The diagnosis and management of colorectal cancer
• How to choose your HCV therapy: a nuc or PI-based regimen
• How to deal with HBV coinfection, risk of HCC after SVR and treating patients with cirrhosis and renal failure
• Diagnosis and management of HCC: Reset, ablate, or transplant? When is a biopsy needed and when is an oncologist needed?
