OVERVIEW

Current Concepts in Limb Loss Management: Tactics, Touch, Technology and Tomorrow is organized by Penn State University (PSU) College of Medicine Continuing Education and will be held during Apr 05 - 06, 2018 at Hershey Country Club, Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is Physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, social workers and others involved in the care of patients with limb loss may benefit from attendance. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 14.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Health-care providers and the community will obtain useful information to improve awareness and education regarding the needs of patients with limb loss.

Conference Objectives are :
• Describe the causes of limb amputations and the decision process that dictates the surgical option(s) available.
• Identify peri- and post-operative pain management strategies to minimize phantom limb pain and maximize functional recovery.
• Discuss the tactics and technology employed to optimize mobility and activities of daily living with a new prosthetic limb.
• Implement a documentation process to support and demonstrate medical necessity for all components of a prosthesis.
• Recognize state-of-the-art advances in the technology of prosthetics that are rapidly becoming available and impacting patient care
