Communication with patients and information provision is organized by European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and will be held during Mar 15 - 17, 2018 at Strand Palace Hotel, London, England, United Kingdom. Conference Description :
How to communicate with patients during their fertility journey? This course will provide the information and resources to improve the communication skills of healthcare professionals, help them develop meaningful information material for their patients and suggest approaches to communicate results of medical investigations and treatments.
This course is aimed at psychologists, counselors, nurses, and midwives working in an assisted conception setting and who are communicating every day with a wide range of patients seeking treatment. The course will cover all communications from initial contact through treatment and will use a range of tools to help participants improve their skills. One unusual tool is a comic booklet which has been used to raise awareness of fertility problems in women in minority and ethnic groups.
The development of materials taking into account differences in health literacy and language will be covered and the ability to convey meaningful information to patients using the magic of numbers will be explored. One of our speakers will also talk about preparing patients for finishing treatment when they actually begin their fertility journey. This mix of resources and different approaches will provide extremely interesting and powerful information and improve the communication skills of all who attend.
