CF4 - State of the Art Cranio Facial is organized by University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and will be held from Jul 14 - 15, 2018 at Austin, Texas, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Physical Therapists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 15 Hours or 1.5 CEUs.
Course Description :
This seminar has a broad focus. It covers craniofacial pain and headaches related to pathologies of the TMJ as well as the effect of degenerative and postural changes of the mid and lower cervical spine on craniocervical posture and function. Surgical management of the TMJ and mandible will be discussed and pre/post surgical patient management carefully explained. Finally, the role of the physical therapist in the management of craniofacial malformations and anomalies will be discussed. The overall emphasis of this seminar is on the integration of treatment-related knowledge and total craniocervical management.
Prerequisite: CF3 - Advanced Cranio-Facial
Course Objectives:
At the completion of this seminar the attendee should be able to:
• Explain the manual skills utilized in the examination and treatment of major maxillo-facial surgical procedures.
• Differentiate manual interventions for selected congenital malformations, traumatic injuries and orthognatic surgery.
• Discuss progression of treatment following TMJ disc reduction.
• Utilize a total body program as a component of musculoskeletal stabilization.
• Discuss patient progression involving both physical therapy and dentistry interventions.
