Acute Respiratory Failure Symposium is organized by Partners HealthCare Office of Continuing Professional Development and will be held during Apr 27 - 29, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.

Conference Description :
This 3-day symposium focuses on the application of mechanical ventilation to patients in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Units, and Operating Rooms. The symposium includes comprehensive presentation and discussion of current literature guiding ventilatory support. Presenters are world-renowned experts in the field of respiratory management and mechanical ventilation of obese and critically ill patients.

Day 1 of the symposium focuses on "The Effects of Obesity on the Lung & Application of Mechanical Ventilation: Unanswered Questions and Research Opportunities." Day 2 focuses on "Hot Topics and Pro&Con discussions of Acute Respiratory Failure & Mechanical Ventilation." Day 3 focuses on "Monitoring and Goals of Treatment during Acute Respiratory Failure.

Conferences Objectives:
• Discuss the unique problems associated with the respiratory management of obese patients.
• Apply up-to-date guidelines for the provision of mechanical ventilation of all critically ill patients and avoid asynchrony.
• Decide when other than conventional mechanical ventilation is required for refractory respiratory failure, including extra-corporeal life support techniques, neuromuscular blockade, and the use of pulmonary vasodilators.
