OVERVIEW

2018 Clinical Conference at the National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment is organized by International Antiviral Society (IAS-USA) and will be held from Dec 09 - 11, 2018 at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is HIV physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP)-funded clinics and programs. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 18.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn 18.00 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.

Conference Description :

The 2018 Clinical Conference will provide state-of-the-art updates on research, care, and treatment issues in the medical management of HIV infection for experienced HIV clinical decision makers.

The 2018 Clinical Conference is coordinated through the RWHAP AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) clinician training network. A mix of lectures, case-based interactive presentations, and small-group workshop breakout sessions will be held during the three days of the 2018 Clinical Conference. It will conclude immediately before the opening general session of the National Conference. 

Conference Objectives are :
• Describe the new aspects to the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.
• Describe new insights into HIV disease pathogenesis that impact clinical care, including opportunities for researching HIV cure.
• Describe the most recent advances in antiretroviral therapy, including initial regimens, switching therapy, and investigational new drugs and approaches.
• Describe the practical aspects of care for older HIV-infected patients.
• Identify chronic opioid dependent patients and develop treatment strategies for the management of these patients with opioid substitution therapy.
• Apply new research data to the prevention of HIV infection, pre- and postexposure.
• Describe the intersection between intimate partner violence and the increased risk of HIV infection.
• Formulate state-of-the-art strategies for diagnosing and managing opportunistic infections, cardiovascular disease, and sexually transmitted infections in patients with HIV infection.
• Identify the elements of the care continuum, including testing, engagement, treatment, and retention in care and their challenges.
• Develop strategies for eradicating hepatitis C virus from your clinic.
• Formulate treatment strategies for the management of liver-related complications.
