OVERVIEW

13th Postgraduate Course on Gastrointestinal Motility and Neurogastroenterology in Clinical Practice is organized American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS) and will be held during Jul 27 - 29, 2018 at The Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is intended for gastroenterologists in academic and clinical practice, GI fellows, nurses, physician assistants, technicians and medical assistants involved in adult and pediatric GI motility testing and research and for those caring for patients with neurogastroenterology and motility disorders as well as pharma and device manufacturers involved in this field. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 17.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

This course will benefit both novice and expert clinicians and clinical investigators through its emphasis on the diagnostic approach and management of gastrointestinal (GI) dysmotility and functional GI disorders. Presentations will include, but will not be limited to, discussions on colonic and anorectal motility disorders, esophageal motility disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease, nausea and vomiting, gastroparesis, identification and management of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), brain-gut microbiome axis, diet and food senstivities, and tackling the effect of the opioid epidemic on the GI tract.

The goal of this course is to familiarize and update novice and expert clinicians and clinical investigators on the current indications, methodology, interpretation, and proper use of clinical GI motility tests while focusing on the clinical management approaches for upper and lower gastrointestinal motility and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

This Course attendees will receive practical demonstrations on current and new procedures that will facilitate a standardized approach for performing these procedures on patients.. Through the case-based presentations the attendees will learn how to treat patients based on the outcome of these tests using an evidence-based and logical approach, while following national and ANMS practice guidelines on diagnosis and treatment will increase their competence and lead to improved and optimal patient care.
