Toxin Academy Course (Sep 15 - 16, 2017)

Toxin Academy Course is organized by International Society of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISNeReM) and would be held during Sep 15 - 16, 2017 at Hospital Du Jura, Porrentruy, Jura, Switzerland.

The main goal of Toxin Academy is to provide support for learning how to use botulinum toxin injections in medical treatment of neurological disorders. The experts in their area (Spasticiy and Dystonia) will share their experiences :
• Injection Techniques (EMG, Electrical Stimulation, Ultrasound)
• Patient Assessment
• Indications

Objectives :

• Review of normal human anatomy of neck, upper limb and lower limb muscles
• Muscle structure and relation between structure and muscle function
• Functional anatomy, normal and abnormal patterns in spasticity and in dystonia
• Relation between muscle structure and optimal BTX injection sites
• Muscle structure modifications in neurologic muscles and consequences
• Ultrasonography of normal muscles and pathologic muscles
• Identification of target muscles with ultrasonography (neck, upper limb and lower limb muscles)
• Learning how to use and how to optimize ultrasound machine • Compare different injection techniques
