Society for Airway Management (SAM) 20th Annual Scientific Meeting and Workshop is organized by Society for Airway Management (SAM) and would be held during Sep 14 - 17, 2017 at Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa, Newport Beach, California, United States Of America.
The target audience for this medical event for Anesthesiologists, emergency medicine physicians, otolaryngologists, intensivists, trauma surgeons, paramedics, certified registered nurse anesthetists, flight nurses and all other allied health professionals assisting with airway management should attend. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 17.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
They has been developed to feature international experts in the various fields of medicine dealing with airway management. Many aspects of difficult airway management, in a variety of clinical settings, will be highlighted. This course will consist of plenary presentations, small group round table discussions, a hands-on workshop including a patient simulator session, and Professor poster rounds. Audience engagement will be encouraged with question periods and an audience response system. There are Abstract Scientific Exhibit sessions, oral presentations of selected abstracts and opportunities to interact with product developers, manufacturers and distributors.
. Course Objectives are :
• Describe innovations in Oxygenation technology.
• Describe prehospital airway management of the patient with airway trauma.
• Discuss improving the safety of intubation in the Emergency Department.
• Discuss initial airway management considerations of the burn patient.
• Describe alternate techniques versus intubation for locations outside of the operating room.
• Discuss the merits of Sugammadex versus traditional muscle relaxant reversal.
• Describe the merits of using disposable equipment in airway management.
• Describe the merits and performance of front of neck airway access.
• Discuss airway management in the setting of highly infectious agents.
