OVERVIEW

Safety and Sustainability in Rural Surgery is organized by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) and would be held on Nov 30, 2017 at Royal College Of Physicians And Surgeons Of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

The target audience for this medical event for surgeons. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 6 CPD credits.

Scotland’s territory encompasses some of the least densely populated mainland areas in Europe and approximately 100,000 people live on a variety of island archipelagos. Scotland’s healthcare system accommodates six Rural General Hospitals which provide a full surgical service to these remote and rural populations. The constraints of geography and the needs of these populations dictate that local provision of surgical services will continue to be required for the foreseeable future. Capable surgical generalists are needed to provide this capacity, and they require an extended range of skills, excellent clinical judgment and a supportive professional network.

This conference will bring together many of Scotland’s current surgical trainees with a long-established network of remote and rural surgeons, the Viking Surgeons’ Club. The conference will explore the current reality of Scottish rural surgical service provision and offer updates into the management of surgical subspecialty emergencies.

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
