North Carolina Orthopaedic Association (NCOA) Annual Meeting is organized by North Carolina Orthopaedic Association (NCOA) and would be held during Oct 06 - 08, 2017 at Williamsburg Lodge, Autograph Collection, Williamsburg, Virginia, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is orthopaedic surgeons in private practice and in academic medicine, fellows, residents in training, and medical students. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This educational activity is designed to provide a balance of current research presentations, clinically relevant lectures and symposia, regional and national updates, and education regarding the most recent changes in the practice of medicine and orthopaedics in North Carolina.
Conference Objectives are :
At the conclusion of this conference the attendees shall be able to:
• Examine the federal CMS programs MACRA and MIPS and identify best practices for
participation.
• Discuss the current national updates from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
(AAOS) and statewide legislative updates.
• Discuss the problem of burnout in orthopaedic surgery and outline strategies for prevention.
• Review the North Carolina STOP Act and assess the current state and national opioid
epidemic with strategies to comply with requirements, minimize narcotic usage and recognize
signs of prescription drug abuse.
