OVERVIEW
Legal Masterclass: Information Sharing for Mental Health Professionals is organized by Healthcare Conferences UK and would be held on 19, 2017 at De Vere West One Conference Centre, London, England, United Kingdom.
This one-day training will provide a practical guide to the legal framework that governs information sharing relevant to those working in Mental Health settings. All principles will be tested via case studies. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss individual concerns. The trainer will be a practising healthcare lawyer.
Masterclass Objectives:
• to familiarise delegates with the provisions of Data Protection Act 1998 and related legislation including the Human Rights Act 1998
• to give delegates an in-depth knowledge of the common law principles, including the public interest principle
• to provide an overview of the disclosures required by law, including sharing with the police
• to explore the law surrounding disclosure about patients who lack capacity, including sharing information with family members (before and after death)
• to discuss the solutions to the challenges of multiagency working, including MAPPA Guidance
• to provide an understanding of the rules of confidentiality as they relate to safeguarding
