Heartland Hospital Medicine Conference is organized by UK HealthCare CECentral and would be held during Sep 28 - 30, 2017 at Hilton Lexington Suites, Lexington, Kentucky, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event for Hospitalists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Residents. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 20.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

This course will serve as a review and update on Hospitalists are the fastest growing specialty in the history of American medicine with more than 55,000 in the U.S. The University of Kentucky (UK) is hosting the first annual Heartland Hospital Medicine Conference in Lexington, KY to provide high quality clinical education for hospitalists. The conference includes nationally recognized leaders in hospital medicine from the surrounding states (Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia) as well as Mark V. Williams, MD, MHM (Professor & Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine). As past-President of the Society of Hospital Medicine and founding editor of the Journal of Hospital Medicine, Dr. Williams worked with his colleagues at UK HealthCare to put together a stellar group of presenters with vast experience in hospital medicine. This will be an evidence-based, continuing medical education (CME) opportunity. Conference Objectives are :
• Recognize contemporary strategies for delivering evidence-based critical care to severely ill patients inside and outside of the intensive care unit
• Review current evidence and guidance for the management of high-yield clinical topics including: Atrial fibrillation, Clostridium difficile, Sepsis, and Oral anticoagulants
• Discuss trends influencing healthcare leadership decisions
• Identify opportunities to optimize hospital performance via documentation strategies and appropriate telemetry utilization
• Detail current controversies in existing evidence pertinent to: Pneumonia, Old and new diabetes medications, Pain management and opiates, Adrenal insufficiency, Weaning from mechanical ventilation, Delirium and dementia, Perioperative and consultative medicine
• Review common emergencies in infectious disease
• Discuss general information on topics of Surgical consultation & Renal replacement therapy
• Review evidence from recently-published studies pertinent to hospital medicine
