OVERVIEW
European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) - German Research Council (DFG) Women in Science Network Conference : From Chromatin to RNA : A Systems View on Molecular Mechanisms is organized by European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and would be held during Nov 21 - 22, 2017 at EMBL Heidelberg, Heidelberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
This conference will combine two principal objectives: Providing opportunities for inspiring discussions on cutting edge research between participants and exchanging ideas to foster networking particularly amongst female scientists.
The scientific focus of this conference is on molecular mechanisms controlling gene expression covering chromatin regulation and RNA metabolism, computational systems biology and therapeutic perspectives.
This meeting offers a platform to consider different aspects of gender equality and career progression with representatives of the DFG, EMBO, AcademiaNet and the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV). The sessions include “Speed-Networking”, a workshop on how to become a professor, as well as a “Round table” discussion on the current issues and advances in academic career development for women in Germany.
Topics
• Career development for women
• Chromatin
• RNA metabolism
• Computational modeling of biological systems
• Molecular disease mechanisms
