California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS) 32nd Annual Mid-Summer Seminar is organized by California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS) and would be held during Jun 8 - 10, 2017 at Resort At Squaw Creek, Olympic Valley, California, United States of America.

This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Conference Objectives are :
• Have an updated and more practical understanding of how physicians must function within California’s workers’ compensation system, including how upcoming changes to the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule guidelines and the addition of a prescription drug formulary will change their treatment planning.
• Have a better working knowledge of how new legislation has changed how they approach reporting complex cases that involve multiple employers, injuries and have taken perhaps years to develop into a debilitating condition.
• Have an improved understanding of how cultural and linguistic issues can affect the success of treatment and/or evaluations.
• Build heightened awareness of how physiological differences in gender may be inadvertently skewing findings in forensic reports to the detriment to women who are hurt at their work.
• Be aware of recent legislative, administrative and judicial decisions and how each may affect their occupational medicine practice.
Improve their understanding of how to measure and report permanent impairments more accurately.
• Have a better understanding of how to use current best practices to increase their success when requesting authorization for treatment under California’s changing medical treatment utilization review system.
• Through group discussions of actual case studies, gain a better understanding of how the practice of medicine and current law are combined in written reports to assist in the resolution of medical disputes.
