Dr. Vladimir Bokarius is a 4th-generation physician who has dedicated his life to the treatment of patients with chronic pain and mental illness. Dr. Bokarius graduated from medical school in Russia, obtained a PhD in Neurophysiology, and completed his residency and fellowship in Psychiatry at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Pain Medicine and is a California Qualified Medical Evaluator. Dr. Bokarius has worked in a number of clinical settings, including emergency, inpatient, and outpatient psychiatry, geriatric and correctional psychiatry, and pain management. He has a strong background in conducting medical research and teaching and has made multiple professional publications and presentations worldwide.
Bokarius's rich background has contributed to a deeper understanding of cultural, social, economic, and legal aspects of his patients’ lives and allowed him to excel in comprehensive medicolegal evaluations. His field of expertise is the assessment and treatment of mental illness, addiction, chronic pain, and insomnia. He is on the faculty of the Directions in Psychiatry Journal and authored continuing medical education materials on the topics of insomnia, chronic pain, and assessment of disability. He is also the medical director of the Center for Occupational Health and Medical Legal Evaluators, Inc., in the San Francisco Bay Area.
