The target audience for this medical event for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and other healthcare professionals who work in acute, urgent and primary care settings. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 6.25 Credits.
Course Description :
This conference will provide education regarding state-of-the-art treatment of medical and surgical conditions commonly encountered in the pediatric acute care setting. Participants will be able to enhance their knowledge of caring for pediatric patients and suggest one practice change in their professional setting.
Course Objectives are :
Upon completion of this conference, participants should be able to:
• Discuss the differences in presentation and treatment of IgE versus non-IgE mediated
food reactions.
• Review the importance of responsible antimicrobial usage and options for antimicrobial
stewardship implementation strategies.
• Describe the common manifestations and complications of rheumatologic illnesses that
may present in the acute care setting, and recognize which situations require emergent
intervention.
• Discuss differing approaches to forearm fractures in children.
• Recognize and treat first time seizure, febrile seizure, and status epilepticus (which are
all approached very differently!)
• Review current literature pertinent to Urgent Care that make a difference in daily
practice.
