OVERVIEW
53rd Annual Internal Medicine Conference is organized by University of Colorado School of Medicine and would be held during Jul 16 - 21, 2017 at YMCA Of The Rockies Estes Park Center, Estes Park, Colorado, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 25.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This program is designed to meet the needs of busy practitioners who practice ambulatory and traditionalist medicine as they care for some of the most challenging cases facing primary care providers today. The highest rated speakers from 18 specialties will deliver state-of-the-art lectures and workshops on topics directly chosen by community physicians and previous registrants who personally recognize the learning needs of clinicians.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
• Identify the latest guidelines for osteoporosis, thyroid nodules, COPD/asthma, screening for gynecologic malignancies, sexually transmitted diseases, GERD, peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, and epilepsy.
• Improve their ability to care for patients with psoriasis, pelvic pain and interstitial cystitis, chronic wounds, urinary incontinence, anorectal lesions, and low back pain.
• Analyze challenging thrombosis cases in their practices, the top articles in hospital medicine literature over the past year, how to approach opioid risk/harm reduction counseling among their patient population, medication safety and cancer screening among their elderly patients.
• Perform a comprehensive shoulder examination to determine the root cause of shoulder complaints, thorough cardiovascular exams to distinguish normal versus abnormal and classify murmurs and additional heart sounds with accuracy, neurologic exams to sort through tremors and classify them with confidence.
• Develop understanding of the current physician assisted suicide laws (and similar terms or programs) as well as the latest orthopedic advances and common nutritional myths and tips to improve care for their patients.
