OVERVIEW
The 5th Annual Chicago Cardiovascular Update Meeting is organized by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and would be held during Jul 07 - 09, 2016 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. This continuing medical education program is designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, cardiology and cardiac surgery fellows in training, cardiothoracic surgeons, family practice, internists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists and other health care providers who participate in the care of adult patients.
Learning Objectives :
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Describe medical and lifestyle strategies for the treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and ASHD, including the use of newer pharmacological agents.
2. Outline approaches to treating the patient with atrial fibrillation including emerging and existing technologies and anticoagulation.
3. Evaluate current and future treatment options for patients with valvular heart disease and the clinical evidence available through clinical trials in process.
4. Explain the utility of the team approach to evaluating and treating individuals with valvular heart disease.
5. Summarize the approach to evaluating and treatment women with cardiovascular disease.
6. Discuss treatment options for the heart failure patient.
7. Describe available surgical and interventional strategies for patients with advanced heart failure including ventricular assist devices and heart transplantation.
8. Synthesize key learning through participation in faculty led clinical case review and MOC case.
