This one-day symposium, held annually, aims to provide a series of brief reviews of clinical topics in which there have been recent advances either in pathogenesis, investigation or treatment, given by speakers who are authorities in their fields. Among the subjects to be addressed this year are stroke, fatiguing illnesses, the growing problem of recreational drugs, emerging serious infections and spinal surgery. In addition, there will be presentations on the application of artificial intelligence to clinical medicine and an update about the work of NICE.
