Nurse Prescribing

Through national updates and practical case studies delegates will hear how to develop and maintain prescribing competence, and how to develop effectiveness in post qualification practice. The conference will look at why nurses are not always prescribing post qualification and to support nurses to restart their prescribing practice. There will also be an extended legal session for non medical prescribers.

The conference will update delegates on their responsibilities with regard to maintaining prescribing competence for revalidation and the the NMC Code which includes specific requirements for prescribing and medicines management as well as leadership. The conference will include case studies demonstrating prescribing competence and will also focus on difficult issue such as prescribing for comorbidities.
