Head and Neck Cancer and Endocrine Surgery Update is organized by University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) Continuing Medical Education and would be held during Nov 18 - 19, 2016 at JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square, San Francisco, California, United States of America. Objectives:
We specifically anticipate improvements in skills and strategies to:
• Evaluate the delivery of cancer care, future of clinical trials and quality metrics in the US;
• Provide up-to-date, guideline-specific cancer care and surveillance;
• Identify common benign and malignant salivary gland pathology, surgically approach complex salivary cancers, and determine when to use adjuvant radiation therapy;
• Treat HPV-related oropharynx and unknown primary cancers and counsel patients on this disease;
• Determine minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical treatment options for oropharynx and larynx cancers, including immunotherapy;
• Appropriately recommend voice rehabilitation after laryngectomy;
• Optimize reconstructive outcomes after oral cavity and skull base cancer surgery, as well as facial reanimation;
• Identify oral lesions and appropriately manage them;
• Incorporate dental care and reconstruction in head and neck cancer patients;
• Manage airway considerations for advanced head and neck cancer patients;
• Improve the approach, decision making, reconstruction, and outcomes in skull base surgery;
• Optimize the evaluation and treatment of benign and malignant thyroid diseases and large goiters, including the use of ultrasound in the clinic and novel robotic approaches;
• Interpret the nuances of fine needle biopsy in papillary thyroid carcinoma;
