OVERVIEW

First International Symposium on Innovations in Amputation Surgery and Prosthetic Technologies (IASPT) is organized by Northwestern Medicine and would be held during May 12 - 13, 2016 at Prentice Women's Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, United States Of America. The targeted audience for this medical meeting is basically for Surgeons/Physicians who specialize in the care of amputees, prosthetists, physical therapists, occupational therapist.

Learning Objectives :

- Educatesurgeons on state-of-the- art techniques in amputation and secondary surgeries.
- Engage surgeons to build enthusiasm and cohesion as a group of specialists in this field.
- Discus surgical options for better function and options that treat residual limb complications. - Instruct prosthetists and therapists on advanced prosthetic issues, especially those with unique surgery or implantable devices.
- Build better ties between different clinical groups.
- Promote recent innovations regarding upper-limb and lower limb amputation surgery, rehabilitation, and prostheses.

Day 1:

Session Topics will include:

• Direct Skeletal Attachment.
• Advances in Lower Limb Prostheses.
• New Residual Limb Orthopedic Techniques.
• Several breakout sessions and case presentations, including hands on experience at a cadaver lab and several unique patient demonstrations.
• Wine and Cheese reception and poster sessions.
Day 2:

Session Topics will include:

• Implantable EMG and Sensory .
Feedback systems (IMES).
• Targeted Reinnervation.
• Other Surgical Issues. • Advances in Upper Limb Prostheses
