AOTrauma Course - Managing Pediatric Musculoskeletal Injuries (Dec, 2016)

AOTrauma Course - Managing Pediatric Musculoskeletal Injuries is organized by AOTrauma and would be held during Dec 04 - 08, 2016 at Davos Congress Centre, Davos, canton, Switzerland.

The target audience for this medical event are basically for traumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, and other surgeons who are actively engaged in pediatric fracture care and who want to enhance their level of expertise in this field. The course aims at current principles and techniques of fracture management in children and adolescents.

The course includes open group discussions moderated by experts in the field who will provide an overview of the current literature and knowledge on each topic. Best evidence will be presented using cases and summary lectures. You will have the opportunity to express your preferred treatment methods for particular problems and we encourage open discussions between participants and faculty.

Learning Objectives :
• Recognize how bone characteristics and fracture classification are different in children and adolescents compared with adults, and describe how this affects bone healing and fracture management.
• Evaluate a range of nonoperative and surgical options for the treatment of common pediatric fractures.
• Apply treatment strategies for pediatric fractures based on available evidence, and discuss areas of controversy.
• Develop strategies for the prevention and management of complications associated with pediatric fractures.
