OVERVIEW

Annual Review Family Medicine is organized by University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) Continuing Medical Education and would be held during Dec 05 - 06, 2016 at Hotel Nikko San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States of America. The target audience for this medcial event for intended for family medicine and other primary care providers including internists, pediatricians, gynecologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health care professionals.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should:
• Understand the indications and uses of the newest oral and injectable diabetes medications.
• Know strategies for reducing HgA1c in diabetic patients.
• Identify patients in the primary care setting with alcohol abuse disorders.
• Recognize the barriers to patients seeking care for treatment of alcohol abuse disorders.
• Risk stratify patients for adverse outcomes who are on opiate medications for chronic pain.
• Effectively and safely prescribe opiates for chronic pain management while reducing the risk of overdose.
