Objectives :

• Identify and discuss the surgical anatomy of the female pelvis as it relates to gynecologic surgery and the biomechanics of continence and pelvic support
• Describe current national initiatives to minimize surgical risk and improve ability to manage complications such as intraoperative hemorrhage
• Cite the data regarding the routine use of cystoscopy to recognize intraoperative urinary tract injury during gynecologic surgery
• Formulate and practice techniques for hysteroscopy in gynecologic practice.
• Evaluate new technologies and how and when to incorporated them safely into surgical practice.
• Assimilate new techniques for teaching gynecologic surgery into practice.
