This activity is designed to review the history of MRI as it relate to prostate cancer/prostate brachytherapy, define the current standard of MRI application for prostate diseases, instruct participants on how to successfully integrate MRI into their brachytherapy practice, and cancer outcomes and quality of life results in the MRI era. Following successful completion, participants will be able to successfully transition toward MRI based prostate brachytherapy.
Educational Objectives
After attending the conference, participants should be able to:
* Provide background elements of prostate MRI as a foundation for learning (Knowledge, Competence, Performance);
* Incorporate an MRI based workflow into a prostate brachytherapy practice (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes);
* Interpret cancer and quality and of life outcomes following LDR and HDR prostate brachytherapy in the MRI era (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes);
* Demonstrate an understanding of advanced imaging challenges for prostate cancer (Knowledge, Competence, Performance); and
* Identify the role of MRI in prostate brachytherapy treatment planning, delivery, evaluation, and education (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes)
