OVERVIEW

The inclusion of simulation education as a Practice Performance Assessment and Improvement activity by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) highlights the importance of simulation-based education for the practicing anesthesiologist. The center proudly received endorsement by the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) in December 2013. This endorsement enables the Maryland Anesthesiology Program in Simulation to serve the national community through involvement in MOCA simulation initiatives and as a member of the ASA Simulation Education Network.

The center is happy to offer a first-rate, value-oriented educational course in a high-fidelity simulated environment specifically designed for ASA members. This simulation course fulfills one requirement of the ABA's MOCA Program Part IV. Please consult the ABA website for a list of all MOCA requirements to board-certified anesthesiologists as they enter into the Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA) process. Our goal will be to fulfill the Part IV Simulation education course requirements as stated in the ABA’s MOCA process.
