As a result of attending these sessions, participants should be able to use current clinical recommendations, based on best evidence, to more competently:

1. Discuss pitfalls in the diagnosis and management of Spinal Epidural Abscess.
2. Describe the presentation and evaluation of adult patients with Acute Epiglottitis.
3. Identify critical findings on an ECG that differentiates Acute Pericarditis from Acute MI.
4. Explain the use of Epinephrine in Anaphylaxis.
5. Recognize common pitfalls in diabetes management.
6. Cite the importance of self-blood glucose monitoring and accuracy of HbA1c testing.
7. State mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics and adverse effects of various oral hypoglycemic agents and different types of insulin.
8. Prescribe appropriate oral agents and insulin to treat patients based on individual conditions.
9. Delineate level of optimal glycemic control in hospitalized patients.
10. Explain and use proper insulin regimen or other agents in hospitalized patients.
11. Apply IV insulin infusion and able to convert to subcutaneous insulin.
12. Formulate plan for glycemic control during perioperative period.
13. Indicate prevalence of thyroid nodules.
14. Delineate proper investigations, management and surveillance for thyroid nodules.
15. Cite new molecular tests for indeterminate thyroid nodules.
16. Recognize impact and complications of osteoporosis.
17. Define and diagnose osteoporosis.
18. Detect indications of BMD testing.
19. Apply non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatment for osteoporosis.
20. Identify and describe opportunities to co-manage Rheumatoid.
21. Discuss clinical findings and treatment strategies for common Crystal Arthritides.
22. Review the update management recommendations from patients with Osteoarthritis.
