9th World Congress of the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (WSPID) is organized by Kenes International and would be held during Nov 18 - 21, 2015 at Sul A?merica, Centro de Convencoes Av. Paulo de Frontin, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The WSPID is a confederation of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (PID) societies. The WSPID aspires to create a global network of national and international PID societies for exchange of information and knowledge between the societies. This may foster collaborations among PID specialists from all over the world.??

?The World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (WSPID) was founded in 1994 as an initiative of some members of the Latin American Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr. Napoleon Gonzalez Saldana from Mexico was the first president. He organized the first World Congress in 1996 in Acapulco, Mexico.?

The six leading PID societies in the world (Pediatric Infectious Disease Society (USA), European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases, Asian Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Sociedad Latinoamericana de Infectiologia Pediatrica, Australian and New Zealand Pediatric Infectious Diseases Group, and African Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases form the core of the Confederation.
