OVERVIEW
This course offers a review of important and timely topics in the field of perinatal medicine.Based on a review of the literature, input from our own expert faculty, and analyses from pastconferences, we will offer a comprehensive program with topics that include: Bio-terrorismduring pregnancy; neurologic, pulmonary, common gastrointestinal diseases in pregnancy; fetalgrowth disorders; updates on fertility and considerations for fertility preservation; preconceptioncounseling; preterm labor; stillbirth evaluation; fetal therapy; and intrapartum fetal heart ratemonitoring.
Lectures by USC faculty from the Keck School of Medicine and guest faculty fromthe University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Eastern Virginia School of Medicinewill outline controversies, discuss recent developments, and suggest recommendations.Participants will have direct access to the speakers and ample opportunity for intensive questionand answer post-lecture discussions. The program was developed for gynecologists,obstetricians, perinatologists, neonatologists, nurses and nurse midwives.
