20th Annual San Diego Heart Failure Symposium

June 7,2014 will mark the 20th anniversary of the San Diego Heart Failure Symposium andthis year there is truly a lot to talk about in heart failure.The Symposium will provide a com-prehensive overview of what is going on in heart failure with emphasis on current evidencebased therapies,new strategies for management and emerging novel approaches for treatment.Thecurriculum includes updates on biomarkers,imaging,diagnosing and treating sleep apnea,managinghyponatremia,insights into diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension and right heart fail-ure,new anticoagulants and their role in CV disease,preventing sudden cardiac death,role of homemonitoring,and emerging trends in cardiac resynchronization therapy.Treatment of myocardialischemia,new paradigms for understanding and treating acute heart failure and percutaneousapproaches for treating valve lesions will be discussed as will identification and management ofpatients with end-stage Class D heart failure,use of mechanical circulatory support and guidance forreferral for end of life care.Concepts brought up in the lectures will be assessed further in panel andcase discussions.Most importantly,attendees will have the opportunity to listen to and meet the out-standing faculty that will participate in the 20th Annual San Diego Heart Failure Symposium.
