2014 3rd Annual Anterior Hip Course

Please join us for the 3rd Annual Anterior Hip Course, September 18 - 20, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Houston in Houston, TX. The anterior approach for total hip replacement is an important surgical alternative to the traditional hip replacement protocol: The approach is tissue-sparing and results in less pain, faster patient recovery, and improved mobility related to the lesser trauma provided by the procedure. The 3rd Annual Anterior Hip Course will offer a thorough education on the surgical and patient processes associated with the anterior hip approach, from patient selection through patient recovery and follow-up.

To accommodate varying levels of familiarity with this procedure, we are offering a 2-part course.

Anterior Hip Course – Basics – September 18:

For surgeons who have not yet employed the anterior approach, we will offer a Basic Anterior Hip Course on Thursday, September 18. This hands-on, cadaver-based course will lay the foundation in building the surgeon’s basic skill set for this technique.

Anterior Hip Course – Advanced – September 19 - 20:

The Advanced course is intended for surgeons already employing this procedure, or having participated in the Basics Course and interested in honing their skills. It is taught by some of the most well-regarded orthopaedic surgeons practicing today. In addition to live surgeries, cadaver labs, detailed lectures, and in-depth discussions on all aspects of the anterior approach hip replacement procedure, the 2nd Annual Anterior Hip Course will also provide a rich education and discussion on directly related topics such as computer aided navigation, pain and infection management, and implant selection and implantation, as well as broader current topics including healthcare and joint registries.
