The Wilderness Athlete

We go into austere and extreme environments for many reasons .....to appreciate the beauty they provide, to explore regions beyond and within but, we really go TO PLAY!

The WMS has brought together members of our faculty that are Sports Medicine trained in addition to representatives from the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine to give a one of a kind workshop that will help any provider become more comfortable with addressing the injuries, illnesses and logistics of caring for athletes in the wilderness. Whether you are covering a mountain bike race, an adventure race or are a base camp physician, knowing how to care for those athletes is imperative and this pre-conference is a start in the right direction! We invite you to start our summer conference a little early and enjoy the didactic and hands on experience that the wilderness athlete pre-conference will offer.
