OVERVIEW

The standard electrocardiogram of exercise testing and ambulatory monitoring remain the most frequently utilized and cost-effective tests despite advances in technology and new diagnostic methods for the assessment of healthy and diseased cardiac function. Basic knowledge of electrocardiography for primary care clinicians, allied health professionals and trainees has been shown to improve the management of cardiovascular disease.

The course will present a systematic approach to ECG interpretation, analysis of unknown ECGs, self-assessment pre-test, and review. A syllabus with lecture material and practice ECGs will be provided and breakout sessions for those of different skill levels in ECG interpretation.

This one-day intensive excursion into electrocardiography will increase the skill of those with knowledge of the subject, as well as those already versed in the subject. You will have a chance to hear from and interact with faculty that has been carefully selected based on their comprehensive clinical experience and academic excellence.

This course is intended for practitioners with basic knowledge of ECG interpretation as found in “The Only EKG Book You’ll Ever Need” by Malcom Thaler (or comparable texts such as Dubin’s)
